2014 Winter Update:

Kendall College of Art and Design:

Kendall Christian Fellowship meets Wednesdays at 11:30 am at Kendall College, check Facebook or our calendar for location

Creating Sacred Space at Kendall: an ongoing project to re-imagine and renovate the Meditation Room at Kendall College. Kendall students are working with pastor and artist Timothy Chon.

GRCC:

Spring Break: March 2014 we will be traveling to First Presbyterian Church, Jamaica Queens to participate in Superstorm Sandy relief.

This year True North Campus Ministry is pleased to partner with the GRCC Christian Fellowship and Jabez Ministries at GRCC.

Small Group meetings:

All our weekly meetings are in Room 20 in the back of the Student Life Office, 1st Floor, Student Center.

During the meetings, this week and next, each group will decide what each group will study. Options include:

1. Basic Christian Discipleship – What does it mean to follow Jesus and obey him as Lord? What are the spiritual disciplines and practices we need in our lives?

2. Understanding the Bible – How should we interpret the Scriptures? Does the Bible have a unifying message?

3. The Christian Responsibility to the Poor – What is the Christian obligation to those in need? How can we best help the needy?

4. The Bible and the Disabled – What do the Scriptures teach about disability? How can the disabled be empowered to fully participate in the body of Christ?

5. The Christian’s Calling – How do we find God’s will and purpose for our lives? How should we serve Him in the circumstances we find ourselves?

6. Evangelism and Apologetics – How do we share our faith with nonbelievers and answer the questions and objections they raise?

7. The Christian View of Popular Culture – How should we understand, critique, and redeem popular culture (literature, art, movies, tv, music, theater, video games, etc.)?

Or your group can choose to study a particular book in the Bible or section such as the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).

GRCC Special Events:

Scavenger Hunt and Fireworks: Friday Sept 6 Please join us for a fun scavenger hunt activity and fellowship before watching fireworks at Celebration on the Grand. We are meeting at 4:00 pm by the benches south of the Main building. The intersection is Fountain and Bostwick Commons. If you arrive late, we will be watching fireworks at Ah-Nab-Awen Park.

Small Group Leader Meeting: Friday Sept 6 11 am-2 pm If you are interested in being a small group leader, contact Harry Lew of GRCC Christian Fellowship and plan to attend this meeting.

Faculty/Staff Prayer Meeting: Friday Sept 6 at 12 to 12:30 pm. Start the year with prayer! watch the Facebook page and calendar for location.

Service Weekend in Benton Harbor:  September 27, 5 pm until September 29 at 4 pm. We will be traveling to First Presbyterian Church, Benton Harbor for a weekend of service and fellowship. There are a variety of different projects we might work on, helping with a Habitat for Humanity house, Thrift store, community garden and more. The cost is $10 for the weekend.
